The Dashing Men
Anthony ( Tony) - Best ManAnthony and I met way back in 2004 when we both performed in the play, Camelot, at Holy Cross. Taking command of his bit part, he hilariously turned it into a Jedi Knight and our friendship blew up from there (despite the fact he still believes the 2nd Ninja Turtles movie is better than the 1st). Even though he now lives in North Carolina it’s like we’re never apart. I am excited for him to stand with me as I get hitched!
FUN FACT: Tony is the co-creator of my favorite pool party game: Speed Pong! |
Canon - GroomsmanSo I saw this blonde-headed super tan kid sitting outside of Sigma Nu my freshmen year at Georgia Tech. For some reason, despite him looking just like Eminem, I thought, “This is the coolest kid I've ever seen. I want to join this fraternity”. And so we both did. We quickly became the best of friends and later roommates for 3 glorious semesters. It is also because of him that I started reading comic books.
FUN FACT: Canon designed my basement apartment remodel with his architectural skills. |
Jim - GroomsmanJim and I first met while performing with the church production of Camelot in 2004. He played King Arthur, and I was his bastard son, Mordred, a joke we still laugh about today. Since then we have shared the stage in numerous other plays, Jim of course always trying to steal my spotlight. Nowadays, you can mostly find us joking around and sharing stories over a pitcher of Miller Lite.
FUN FACT: Jim will be the Cantor for our wedding ceremony! |
Mike - GroomsmanAnother Ninja Turtles enthusiast, I first met Mike at Workout Anytime, the world’s lamest gym. He was clearly the only other “warrior” there so of course we started getting swole together. As time went on, I quickly learned he had a passion for my other love, Dragon Ball Z. Now he’s one of my best friends, just saiyan.
FUN FACT: Mike can bench 225 lbs on incline… no effort. |
Gilbert - UsherI met this young buck my Super-Senior year at Georgia Tech when he was a pledge at Sigma Nu. Although not my official little brother, even though he should have been, he has always had my back. Gilbert is always ready for a good time, and I will forever be thankful for him pulling me out of my “study cave” while preparing for the LSAT.
FUN FACT: He is a master of song and even sang a solo at Shakespeare's grave with his high school chorus. |
Griggs - UsherWes Griggs and I met through Sigma Nu at Georgia Tech and were roommates together for a remarkable two and a half years. We spent countless Saturdays together at Tech football Game Days, and he is by far one of the greatest story-tellers I know.
FUN FACT: Griggs and Rachel were back-to-back residents of the same dorm room at the former Olympic Village on North Avenue. |
Sam - UsherI met Sam my sophomore year at Georgia Tech when he joined Sigma Nu. We bonded over our mutual love for Dragon Ball-Z and premium cable shows. Together we have traveled to multiple Mountain Weekends, Oktoberfests, and fraternity formals together.
FUN FACT: Sam introduced me to my love for premium beer because we started our Taco Mac Passport (now called Brewniveristy) lists together. |
Steve - ReaderSteve is my best friend Anthony’s father, and I consider him an extended part of my family. He and my parents are good friends and can frequently be found together cheering on LSU or cooking up his delicious gumbo. Each week he donates his time and talent by cooking for St. Pius athletic events and with the Knights of Columbus at Holy Cross Catholic Church.
FUN FACT: His whistle can be heard from two houses away! |
